Introduction What is a Brow Lift? The Facial evaluation. The Brow Lift procedure. Recovery and healing. Cost of surgery.
Introduction
Heaviness of the eyebrows can result in the abnormal position of the eyebrows at or below the bony ridge of the upper eye. Patients frequently assume that eyelid surgery will correct this when in fact what is needed is a Brow lifting procedure. Brow rejuvenation restores a more youthful, refreshed look to your brow and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make you appear angry, sad, or tired.
Dr. Ress will design your brow by raising or reshaping based on your facial analysis to give a natural rested appearance, not a look of surprise. Brow lift patients are some of the most happy with their results as the results can be quite dramatic.
While the information provided below will provide you basic information regarding the procedure, it cannot answer all of your questions. Every person is an individual, unique in appearance, and Dr. Ress recommends a personal consultation in order to answer all your questions regarding facial rejuvenation.
Newer techniques allow brow lift even in men with receding hairlines.
What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift elevates the forehead repositioning the eyebrow areas to a better location relative to the bony ridge above the eyes, which is known as the orbital rim. In women, an artfully created arch for the eyebrow is designed above the ridge, whereas in men, the shape of the eyebrow remains fairly flat but above the ridge.

The Facial evaluation.
Dr. Ress will spend time with you to discuss your areas of concern and to make recommendations for how to maximally improve your appearance and to achieve your goals. These treatments may range from non-surgical options to facial surgical procedures that maximally restore youth.
Part of the evaluation will review your health history, current medications, use of vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drugs. The best candidates for surgery are healthy individuals who, if they have any medical conditions, have them well managed and well controlled; non-smokers; and individuals who have a positive outlook and specific and realistic goals in mind.
Part of the evaluation involves accurately identifying and quantifying typical problem areas including skin type, amount of sun damage, skin excess, brow and eyelid position, presences of wrinkles and jowls, etc.
